One major purpose of me applying for a press pass for the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational 2008 was to get a chance to interview somebody from Blizzard about World of Warcraft. And my thanks go to secret PR guy (who wishes to remain anonymous), who made it possible that I got an interview with J. Allen Brack, Lead Producer for World of Warcraft. So here is the interview, word for word, just cleaned up a bit: I'm the Lead Producer for World of Warcraft, so I'm the spiritual advisor, the solver of problems, I help control when patches and expansions come out, help getting them tested and ready to go, I'm remover of roadblocks great and small to all manner of programmers and artists and designers. Well, the goal is there for one expansion per year. It's the goal, but it's more important that you have a great experience.

Okay, lets follow up on you want more tanks in the game. You just need 5 minutes in looking for group chat to know that everybody wants more tanks and healers in the game. Do you think you can solve that by adding another tank class, and then you get more tanks, or do you think there is some underlying reason that people like the damage dealing classes more than the group classes of tank and healer? Yeah, tanking obviously is a very big responsibility. I think two things. Definitely I think by adding another tanking class there will be more tanks in the game. I think also in the past we had a tendency, if you take the protection warrior, it was the best tank, but it wasn't really useful for other things. So one of the kind of changes that we are going to make with tanking in Wrath of the Lich King is tanks, even protection tanks, will still do some amount of damage that contributes towards the overall raid or dungeon, or whatever you happen to be doing.

Lee Sparks, the associate producer at Blizzard, told the Guardian: "The story is very important to Lich King. We're picking off where we left off at the end of the Warcraft 3 expansion. With Burning Crusade, we had a lot of story but a lot of it was in endgame so it wasn't very visible to a large proportion of the customer base. With Lich King we've made it so that the player is immersed in the story from the start. This draws people into the game even more."

Now, signs have appeared that Blizzard may be brewing up yet one more reveal. The developer's home page is currently gated by a teaser image depicting what appears to be shattered ice bearing a runelike marking--and not much else. Upon clicking the image, the user is then redirected to Blizzard's standard home Web site

Guild Rules - Some guilds run very loose, some very tight and militaristic. If the style of the guild your in does not suit your style, switch. I have been in high level raiding guilds that dictate builds, gear, and playtimes to a strict degree. If it's all about progression for you that may be ok. If you want to have some fun and choices, then it's probably not your cup of tea.

There's a broad range of what is considered normal and what is considered "over-doing it." This is almost always determined by your server and the top guilds there; on some servers, guilds raiding more than 12 hours a week are considered hardcore players who are throwing their lives away; on others, those same guilds would be considered very casual guilds. In the following examples, I'm going to use 16 hours as the basis for a "normal" raiding guild.

Fan events need to be about how the fans view the game as it presently exists and - where concerns exist - why those concerns weren't addressed in the past. If you get past that, maybe talk a little bit about what you absolutely, positively, without a doubt know you're going to do in the future.

The GM staff counted 4800 cases of third-party tool usage, 4400 of which were used to get ahead of other players in hunting down notorious monsters. They also noted 2800 cases of people engaged in trading cash for FF11 Gil or previously banned people attempting to sign up again, as well as some cases of gamers trying less than scrupulous ways to get better items.
